For many people who have received a body enhancement treatment, the benefits have been endless, but that doesn’t mean signing up was an easy decision. Cosmetic procedures make a major impact on your body and your life thereafter, so prospective patients should want to learn as much as they can before diving headfirst into such a big change.

Belle Medical providers aren’t just happy to share their knowledge—they consider it a responsibility. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about HD Body Sculpting and natural Fat Transfer that we’re asked during consultations.

What are the risks in having a procedure done?

There are almost zero risks involved in our procedures. The only real risk is that of infection, which is extremely uncommon. We prescribe an antibiotic and provide proper aftercare to prevent this from happening.

Does fat really never return after HD Body Sculpting?

Once fat cells are removed from the body, they’re gone for good! Our fat cells can shrink or increase in size if we lose or gain weight, but our bodies don’t produce new fat cells.

Are Fat Transfers permanent?

Once the fat has adhered post-procedure, the results are permanent—transferred fat does not go away over time.

If I lose weight, will my Fat Transfer go away?

The areas fat has been transferred to will fluctuate with weight gain and loss, but you’ll never lose the fat entirely. Once fat is transferred to an area, it’s there for good. The fat is taken from the most stubborn areas of the body, meaning those most resistant to weight loss—those fat cells are still stubborn in their new locations. If you’re losing weight, the areas of your body that have received a transfer will be the last to show a decrease in size.

How much fat retention can I expect from a breast augmentation or Brazilian butt lift?

On average, about 50% of the transferred fat adheres and stays posttreatment. If you’re looking for a specific size increase, we’ll add as much additional fat as necessary to reach your ideal size at the 50% adherence level.

Will I have saggy skin after the procedure?

Due to the sonic vibration during the procedure, your body will produce collagen while you heal, tightening the skin. Wearing a compression garment for the full 30 days as directed will ensure that your skin heals tight and firm.

Can I take a Lyft or Uber home after the procedure?

We don’t recommend using ridesharing services to get home on the day of your procedure. We prefer for you to have someone you know and trust take you home instead.

Do I have to take the provided medications?

We have formulated a cocktail of medications to help you relax and make the procedure as pleasant as possible. We highly encourage our patients to take all recommended medications on the day of the procedure.

Why do you work with nurse practitioners (NPs) instead of doctors?

We have worked with many different practitioners in the past (including doctors) and have found NPs to be the best for our procedures. They have the most pleasant bedside manner and tend to be the best with patients overall. We make sure all of our Board-certified NPs have the right aesthetic eye for sculpting and contouring the body.

Why don’t I meet with the provider before the day of my procedure?

Our providers perform multiple procedures each week. They like to meet with patients on the day of their procedure to make absolutely sure each individual gets the treatment they want.

Does insurance cover this procedure?

Since our treatments are elective cosmetic procedures, most insurance companies will not cover them. That said, if your doctor deems your treatment “medically necessary,” you can file a claim with your insurance company and see if it will reimburse you. We have had patients who have been reimbursed successfully after their doctors deemed their procedures necessary for various health reasons.

What’s the difference between Belle Medical and Sono Bello?

We use the most state-of-the-art FDA-approved technology in fat removal. Our patented machines and processes use sonic vibrations to gently break up fat cells without damaging the tissue, while Sono Bello uses lasers to destroy fat tissue. Our process leaves no risk of burning or damaging the cells, which allows us to safely and effectively use them for Fat Transfer augmentation.

These are only a handful of the questions we get about HD Body Sculpting and Fat Transfer. You can find more on our FAQs page, but you’ll get the best, most individualized answers by asking your own questions during a consultation. Coming prepared with the questions that are most important to you personally is an excellent step toward achieving results you’ll always be happy with.
